It's Maxie's Gotcha Day.

A year ago today, a little puppy found us. It was cold and snowing outside, and I kept seeing a puppy run in from of the window. In our neighborhood that's not uncommon to see a dog, but you usually see the owner right behind the dog. My husband went outside to get the doggy, and later knocked on doors to ask if anyone was missing a puppy. We took her to the Vet, to have her scanned, and to check her health. She wasn't chipped, and had some minor problems. We never found her owners, and decided to keep her. A year later, she is healthy, and hopefully happy. NEVER in a million years, would I have imagined that I'd have a dog.

After a long night of partying!

Being the princess that she is.
100 internet dollars if you know where I got "gotcha day" from.

So, it begins.

Recently, I've decided that I am going to run a 5k. Now, to some of you a 5k may not seem that difficult, but for me it'll be a challenge, as running will be completely new to me. Trust, I've got a long way to go. I not only need to get into shape, I need to lose weight, and build endurance as well. I haven't exercised on a regular basis since sometime last year, so I'm in for a uphill battle. But I'm up for the challenge.

I've already purchased running shoes, but I'll continue to use my walking shoes until I start to actually run. It took me forever to finally pick a pair.

My next step is to buy some sports bras. This should be fun! /sarcasm

Earlier this week I tweeted that I was going to run a 5k, and Tiffany from Moscato and Mayhem wants to run a 5k also. So, we decided that we would blog about our journey.

Today, I walked with my husband and dog. We walked about 1.5 miles. It wasn't too bad.

Has anyone run a 5k? If so, what did you do to prepare?
